Configuration is subdivided into several areas:
Configuration tabs Experiment Camera Filters and Objects Zone Definition Activity Behavior Saving Options

Experiment: Into the "Experiment" form you can enter experiment meta data and adjust settings to start and stop experiments automatically.
Parameters: Experimenter, Experiment No., Experiment type, Short description, Long description, Animal name, Animal No., Date/Time, User labeled fields, Time controlled experiment execution, Trigger control
[Show details]

Camera: ViewerII can either do live data acquisition, or video file analysis.
[Show details]

Filters and Objects: Is the part of the interface where the filters for animal recognition are adjusted.
Parameters: Tracking mode, Tracking area, Background filter, Animal filter, Display settings, Extended animal recognition settings
[Show details (3,5 MB animated gif)]

Zone Definition: You can define different zones within the arena which will be evaluated separately in the subsequent data acquisition. The zones can also be used as start and stop zones or to trigger external hardware.
Parameters: Setup calibration, Grid options, Zone forms (rectangle, circle, free formed), trigger settings for each zone, reference point for zone entry (head, body, tail)
[Show details]

Activity: To describe the animal's activity statistically, you may define four parameters.
Free definable velocity classes to describe the animal's velocity profile. A lower velocity threshold is used to make oot activity and inactivity. The previously often used zone crossing parameter can be measured to compare new results with results from former days. The average distance to the arena's wall is measured constantly. It can be interpreted as anxiety indicator.
Parameters: Lower and upper threshold for each class, Activity threshold, Zone crossing, Wall zone

Behavior: You can set different filters for automatic detection of ambulation, headbobs, headstretches and tailmoves.
Parameters: Ambulation threshold (acceleration threshold), Headbobs, Headstretches, Tailmoves (last three: locomotion velocity plus angular velocity)
[Show details]

Saving Options: Different options for data saving.
Parameters: Result interval, Movie recording, Configuration saving
